Global Handwashing Day is celebrated on October 15th.

WE should always wash our hands at the following times:
  • After using the toilet
  • Before, during and after caring for a sick person.
  • Before and after eating
  • After handling garbage
  • After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
  • After touching animals and pets
  • After changing babies’ diapers or helping children use the toilet
  • When your hands are visibly dirty 





Hands must be washed with soap and water for 20 seconds:

We Eat different kinds of food.Balance diet is important for a healthy and fit body.Food gives us energy.Food also helps to grow.

Food is very important for us. what people and animals eat to survive. Food usually comes from animals and plants.

What is a natural disasters ?

natural disaster is a major event caused by natural processes of the Earth.

 A natural disaster causes loss of life or property damage, and leaves some economic damage after it has been completed.

There are many types of natural disasters, example
Drought;    A period of time where little or no rain fall.

Earthquake-   shaking Earth caused by the movement shifting of tectonic plates.

Flood-    Lakes streams and river overflow .It rains so much that land can no longer absorb water.

 Tornado-   A violent rotating column of air .up to 300mph winds

Tsunami,- A large wave saused by an earthquake or volcano in the ocean.

volcano-A hole in earth[s crust that spew lava ,gas,and ash.

Wild fire-A wildfire is an unplanned fire that burns in a natural area such as a forest,and  grassland.

Good Care of Heath

Anubhav lives in a small house with his father and mother.


He  liked to eat  chocolate, icecream and colddrinks very much .Often used to quarrel   with his mom For that. 



But his mother didn’t  give him everything he asked.She used to tell him that these things are not good for our health and would also cause  dental caries .She also asked  to take good care of his health .


 


The next day,Anubhav went to  a Wedding Party with his mother.He saw Icecream and cold drinks  which he likes very much .He had one icecream  secretly but could not stop himself from taking another..and found it tasty.He could not control himself.




                      He Wanted more Ice cream.


Suddenly he met his Childhood friend Prisha and Arnav  who Also like ice cream and they started eating more ice cream .

The next day ,He fell sick and had commoncold and Fever . 


He went to the Hospital where the doctor gave him lots of Medicine and advise  him to drink plently hot water .He didn’t  get well and had to be treated with saline water and injectable fluid. 



Like her mother ,doctor also advised him not to take ice cream and more choclate  and to wash hands frequently.
After that ,he obeyed what his doctor told him to do.He changed his habit and Stopped eating icecream  colddrinks and choclates . He Also stopped to eat junk food ..☺

  • Prepare or eat food and drinks with unwashed hands
  • Blow your nose, cough, or sneeze into hands and then touch other people’s hands or common objects etc
  • After playing Outside
  • After using money.

Myth Behind Dasahin 






Dashain festival is celebrated for 15 days .Dashain is the festival which is celebrated by the Hindus to mark the victory good over the evil.

 This year, Dashain festival starts from 17 October to 26 October 2020.1 Kartik to 14 Kartik.

Dasahin symbolize  the victory of god over evil.Hindu mythology the demon mahisasura had created  terror in the devaloka (the world where god lives).But durga killed the rakshas.(Demon)                                   

We called Dashain as Bijaya Dashami  Vijaya means victory and Dashami means tenth. So, the tenth day of Dashain is the most important. After that, last five days of the festival is the celebration of the victory.






Why We Celebrated DAshain ?

*Durga Mata killed the Demon.

*Gods Win victory over evil.

*We get blessings from elders .

*We celebrate quality Time with family.

*We celebrate 15 days dashain and we fly kite as well.

*We put tika jamara and  blessing and they give us Dakshina.

*We Worship goddess \durga  for nine days.

Why we fly kites?



When we fly the kites in the sky ,we are letting our ancestors in the heaven know we are doing fine.

Kites flying informs the god of rain ,Indra to stop the rain as the harvesting season is satarting


 Dashain Festival celebrate for fifteen days, among which the most important dates are the following 



firstday Ghatasthapana 

Seventh day Fullpati , 

Eighth day  Mahaastami , 

Ninth day Nawami and 

 Tenth day Bijaya dasahami Tika.

Day 1 Ghatasthapana,

Ghatsthapana is  first day of Dasain Festival. On this day, the kalasha is filled with holy water, then mixed with barley seeds and cow dung, finally delivered to the priest to pray for the blessings of the Goddess Durgar. After some days later fivve or six inches long yellow grass would thrive in the kalash….

 

Day 7 Fulpati

fulpati is observed on the seventh day of Dashain festival. In Nepali,"Ful" means flower and "Pati" means leaves and plants. There is a tradition in Nepal to bring nine types of Fulpati into homes on the seventh day of Navaratri. Saptami is the seventh day of Vijaya Dasami festival. This year Satami is on Kartik 7 2077 That is October 23  2020 in English calendar.

Day 8: Maha Asthami

Maha Ashtami’ is considered special as Goddess Durga is said to have attained power on this day. Hindu devotees offer special worships to the goddesses Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswati. People also worship weapons, vehicles and machinery parts . Eighth day is a bloody day in Dashain Festival people cuts Goat buffalo chicken etc and Eat Prasad. 

 Day 9: Maha Nawami

The Navami, which is called as Maha Navami relating it to the great festival, is the ninth day of Dashain  Festival This is the last day of Navratri, which means the worship of the Goddesses are held high, and end this day since next day is the Bijaya Dashami.


Day 10: Vijaya Dashami,

On this day, women devotees prepare the Tika (mix of yoghurt, rice and vermilion) that is further applied to the foreheads of younger family members with the Jamara as they seek elderly blessings. This big red Tika symbolises the blood that unites a family.

Day15 Kojagrat Purnima

Nepali Hindus are observing the Kojagrat Poornima (full moon day) today as part of the final day of the 15-day Bada Dashain festival by worshipping and paying homage to Mahalaxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. The Bada Dashain festival formally ends this day .
